Privacy

The short version

Optimo — the desktop app and the iPhone/Android apps — and this website are operated by Matter Development. Optimo collects nothing about you. The app runs locally — your files never leave your machine. This marketing site sets no analytics and no tracking cookies. It does load a chat widget from Matter Chat on every page, so you can ask us something without leaving the page; it can set its own storage to remember a conversation. Two more load only if you choose to use them: Cloudflare Turnstile, if you open the support form, and Lemon Squeezy's checkout overlay, if you click Get Pro. None of this touches the Optimo app, which still runs entirely on your machine. If you buy Optimo Pro Lifetime, the app checks your licence with our payment provider; that is the only personal data involved, and it is described below.

The Optimo desktop app

Optimo is a desktop application that processes images and video locally on your computer. It does not transmit your files anywhere and includes no analytics or telemetry. That's the whole point of the product.

It makes exactly two kinds of outbound request, and neither one involves your media:

• Update check. Asks GitHub whether a newer version exists. You can turn this off in Settings.
• Licence check (Pro only). If you activate Optimo Pro Lifetime, the app sends your licence key and a machine name (your computer's hostname plus the app version) to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, to activate the key and then to re-check it periodically (at most about once a week). This is what lets a refunded or revoked licence stop unlocking Pro. It sends nothing about your files, your usage, or what you optimize. The free tier never makes this request.

Your licence key is stored on your own machine, encrypted with your operating system's secure storage where that is available.

The Optimo mobile apps (iPhone and Android)

Optimo for iOS and Android compresses photos and videos from your library, entirely on your device. The apps have no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and make no network requests involving your media. Both store listings declare "no data collected", and this section is what that declaration means in practice:

• Photo library access. The apps ask for permission to read your photos and videos so they can compress them and save the optimized copies back. Your media is processed on the device and never uploaded anywhere. The "Free up space" feature reads file sizes across your library to find the largest files — that ranking also happens entirely on your device.
• Notifications (optional). If you turn on "Notify when done", the app schedules a local notification when a batch finishes. These are generated on your device; there is no push server and no push tokens are created.
• Nothing else. No camera, no microphone, no location, no contacts, no advertising identifiers, no third-party SDKs that phone home.

If a future version adds optional paid features, purchases would be processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their own terms — we would receive no personal information from them beyond anonymous, aggregate sales reporting. This policy will be updated before any such change ships.

This website

This marketing site is statically generated. It has no analytics and no tracking cookies. A strict Content-Security-Policy header blocks unexpected third-party scripts from running. The one deliberate exception is the bot-protection widget on the support page, described below.

Your browser stores a single localStorage entry to remember your light/dark theme preference. That value lives in your browser; we never see it.

Search Console

The "no analytics" above means nothing measures you in your browser. Separately, this site is registered with Google Search Console so we can see how it appears in Google Search — which queries surface it and whether any pages have crawl errors. That data comes from Google's own search index, not from anything running on this page. Verification uses a DNS record or a single static <meta> tag — neither adds a script, sets a cookie, or can identify you.

The support form

If you write to us through the support form, the name, email address, and message you type are sent to our inbox by Resend, the email provider we use for exactly this purpose. We use what you send to answer you, and for nothing else — no marketing lists, no profiling.

The form is protected from bots by Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs only on the support page. Turnstile analyses browser signals to tell humans from bots; it does not show puzzles in most cases and does not track you across sites. Turnstile and the Lemon Squeezy checkout overlay both load only when you use that part of the site. The Matter Chat widget is the exception: it loads on every page.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel keeps operational server logs (including IP addresses and basic request metadata) for security and reliability. We don't access those logs for marketing or profiling; their handling is governed by Vercel's privacy policy.

Download links point to GitHub Releases. Once you click a download link you're on GitHub's infrastructure, governed by GitHub's privacy policy.
